Reality is even better.  I have a Solovox Model L (the latest version from 1948) that I got at a flea market.  It was missing the speaker and all the transformers but since I couldn't find the driver transformer for the output stage, I used a twin triode in place of the single triode and made a phase splitter stage, which is probably better anyway.

One part of the circuit that is interesting is the use of remote-cutoff pentodes for gain control as drivers for the push-pull output tubes.
