Connecting multiple circuits

Just to clarify:

With out a buffer, I loose some high frequencies when playing say a major D shape at the 12th position. With buffer bypassed sounds dull, engage buffer sounds brighter.

Another situation, I made a bypass box to use a tube preamp in my return loop that removes the input into the amp (an idea I got from the Victory V4 preamp series). Some of the tube preamps I made if there is no buffer and I turn the gain past noon it starts to make noise. With a buffer in front of chain, no noise and I am able to use full gain.
