Converting a toggle switch to a foot switch?

Is this possible? It seems that foot switches are nowhere in my country.
Only DPDT and 3PDT toggle switches are around. If this is possible, what can I use as a button (something from scrap?)? Can anyone describes how it is done (wiring and mechanical).

Some Old computers and monitors have good on/off switches you could possibly use,  old cars have dimmer switches for lights.  I am sure there are other appliances that may have switches that you can use.   Put your thinking cap on and start thinking...

you could use "automotive heater switch" as a heavy duty N.O. switch...use the jfet switch that Marcos Munkey has posted in his site...I have my mods made there.....  :wink:
