Anybody knows something about this transistor?

Dan N

I dont know about a GR1815, but there is a common-as-dirt transistor called a 2SC1815GR. It's a low noise silicon NPN with an hfe from 200 to 400. Pinout is ECB.

I don't know if is the same, I found the transistor in a board with a simple inductor and some caps and resistors. I don't know what the board do, because I found it today in a street (!!!), but I think this could be a simple FM radio. Is marked like this:

a star drawed :P     GR
         1815

Probably what it is. I think the "GR", ("BL", etc.) used to be actual colour dots (as in "GReen", "BLue"), which was a gain grading, but later changed to letter suffix designations, I guess. As mentioned, you can get them real cheap esp. in quantity.

Thanks for all the info :).
