I was wondering if its possible to mod (or perhaps even bias) a tycho octavia to have a bit less fuzz, but with a more prominent oct-up sound?

I was under the impression that is what you get when you turn the intensity(fuzz) control down, no? I'm hoping that's the case, as I'm about to build one myself.

me, my BIG porblem is getting the transformer locally.... Ill have to look in my junk box...

Yes, if you just turn down the intensity you will get a stronger octave effect. A fun thing to do is turn the intensity down to 0 and turn up the volume to drive a fuzz or amp input. This will give a strong octave along with a lot of fuzz. It's a pretty versatile box if you play with the controls.

Using the neck [pickup and turning down the vol and treble on the guitar is a good idea to try with these...the octave is more pronounced or the related noizuztain [er whatever] is less..
 I was using Guitar>Tycho>FF [or TB]>EZ Vibe>tubes and speakers
 For single note leads [at certain neck positions] this is quite an amazing device...
