Can you describe what each of the pots is for? (maybe label them in the schem?) THis is something I think I will build. I was looking for an excuse to buy one of the Radio Shack 555 timer chips.

What if you built this as a Monkey wah?    A foot pedal controlling that 1 meg pot would be killer!

Fallen angel

the link is fixed now.   from left to right.

the top left pot connected to the 555 is a freq knob it detrmines the pitch of the oscilator.

the pot in the feedback loop is for gain/dist.

the first pot coming off of pin 3 of the 555 detrmines how much signal the frequency generator sends to the opamp.   the second pot determines how much  out of phse signal to the second opamp so you can vary how much - phase it has.. and the last pot is volume

Cool thanks! I'm thinking I'm gonna paint this one banana yellow.

Wow! That looks very cool! :)

I'll have to build one for sure. Thank you!

Take care,

Geocities seems to be the only reliable host... but it gives you very little bandwidth.... I'm still looking for a hosting service that's free cos mine is quitting...  :(
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

I got a 555 from RS
 I got a 555 Timer from RS
 I think they're different...are they?
If so which one would be forthe Ring Mod type thing?

They shouldn't be, unless one is CMOS.

I see where I got the "ring mod" from... it's in the thread title.  This isn't ACTUALLY a ring mod, is it?  Just a ring-mod-esque?

hmm looks interesting.  i was reading on the gonkulator from dod, and it says "we use carrier wave, in this case b flat and we mix it in the signal and later we subtract out the carrier wave. leaving only the original sound with the modulated overtones"   not verbatim mind you but still pretty close to what the ibanez site says.  this in theory does the same thing. all though i haven't tried it.  nice job though

bwanasonic

I'd be real interested in sound clips if anybody can post some of this ckt.
