Hi all,

I've got a database here with IC numbers and substitutes. Most of them I've never heard of but I collected as many as I could, and put them in a Microsoft Access database. I've never worked with access and I'm completely stumped as to what to do.

I want an HTML page on my site where you type in your part number, then the information is retrieved and displayed to our friendly user... I'm trying to make a large all-inclusive database of parts and substitutes for DIY-ers.

Can anyone help me with this?

Sorry I don't have any time to help, but I will offer a little advice. I presume you know this is a major undertaking.

Forget Access and use mySQL and PHP if you want to make a web accessible database, but there is an even easier way....

There are already many parts equivalent pages so I would concentrate on gathering those and then making an index to them. Google will even allow you to search your site with their engine.

Good luck!

Hmmm. The thing is, I thought of making an index, but because I don't like linking to a million different pages, I thought I'd remedy the situation.

Now to learn Javascript, aaaargh it's confuzzling!
