I'm sure their management said "we gotta get rid of the fat guy, can't have him ugly-ing up those videos!".

Its amazing what being a celebrity does to some people, but I guess they have been having problems lately, hopefully Amy will go on a write some more awesome stuff with another band.

The  other guitar player in my band reccomended that CD, and was suprised when I absolutely HATED it. My comment at the time was that it didn't sound like music that would age more than six months. That was about five months ago... I guess the *founders* felt the same way. It sounded like *product*, not music to me.

The popularity of a group like Evanescence just makes me feel old.  :)

What's evenacence eh?  It's a band right?  i never heard of em.  Are they any good, eh?

For me; nothing beats a Classic Cream song, man.  And occasionally a little Nirvana, or Mudhoney To get me going....

i like most people i know get into the fantasy roleplaying type stuff.   so of course we are going to get into some goth'ish type stuff.  i mean one of my fav bands is the vampire lestat.  ok i know thats corny but what do you get from the generation that ws brought up on video games and D&D. and such.  hey i am an X-er and i can't help it nor would i try to.  but that has been a mainstay in that type of music.

also i have a heads up from a few peeps on what was going down for the most part. and lets just say it isnt' surprising.  i mean what do you do when you catch your significant other..  who realy isn't but realy is your significant other.  in the sack with someone else.

look at all the interviews, at first they were all happy  and shit then look at all the interviews she has done by herself where she is putting dude down.  hmm  i dont' know i would say the proof is in the pudding.

ps if you have a good connection go here and see one of my favoritebands

I've tried, but I just don't get the goth thing.  All that Ann Rice crap just completely went over my head, too.  Seems like primarily an attention getting ploy for sullen teenagers.  I've never met a 40 year old goth. :-)

Maybe it's just me... ;-)

Brett Clark

Well, I'm near 40 and I really like Evanescence. Of course, their songwriting is influenced by Jim Steinman (writer of all the good Meatloaf tunes).

And her voice...wow...

She certainly is prettier than David Lee Roth!

lol..............  yeah..  i bet she was giving it up to the band   lol..  but hey thats her business i have been in that situation before.  thats why i hire female singers to do my work, and then tell them politely to leave.  so it doesn't go any farther
i fi need them for a show i call one of them that knows the material

hmm aren't most people who are fourty  born in 63 hence making them non generation X..

as far as attention getting ploy for sullen teenager, you may have to look at that a different way.  after all look at Columbine now that was a serious lack of attention and a whole bunch of other stuff going on there.  also, most people i knew going to High School, were always mulling over different scenerios for the people who made life hell everyday.

Not to Rant here, but i feel it needs to be said, we all know kids can be cruel but also you look at the poor kid the fat kid the unpopular kid who doesn't fit the "In" Crowd, some of those people are tormented and even beaten to a point in schools that wheni was going too school that they were terrified even 10+years ago to set foot in school.

then you get parents on top of this who ground the kid for getting beat up or God forbid the child stand up and defend him self and get expelled.  i know a few people who didn't make it along the way, and quite a few others who are very emotionaly scarred to a point that they fear people making hard to find employment.

THat is why i started teaching self defense to younger students and later to Local Women at the Ymca and such.

Going to my middle school i was beaten on the bus, to which i couldn't fight back too because if i got kicked off the buss again i was going to be beaten by my father when i got home.

so i had to take being punched in the face and in various parts of the body not with fists.. no but with the insides of lockers that hold your coats and have the screws still protruding out of htem that held them against the wall in the concrete.

getting called to the office by the teachers aide only to get jumped in the hall because the teachers aide is friends with your nemesis.

breaking your hand in a fight where you were jumped by more than one person repeatedly and having to be locked in the basement of the school with no break no leaving that class for 8 hours for your in school suspension all because you are trying to make it another day.

on top of all of this you can't use the stuff you are trained in by taking 6 martial arts classes a week, cause if you do you will be kicked out of karate.

then you go to a lesser school and pass there aptitude tests with flying colors and get put in the basic track when you have studied past all the current grades three years before then.

imagine sitting in your senior year and trying to explain how you already took algebra 1-3 geometry and basic trig before you came to there school and they stick you in prealgebra and algebra one for the next two years.   trying to explain to your parents that they want you graduate early because you have acumulated  nearly 40 accademic credits before senior year and you only need 22 to graduate.  but they will not sign the papers thinkin you can't adjust to college life at 16.

i htink if we spent a little more time with our kids problems instead of trying to brush it off as they are hyperactive.  it has been proven a child that is not challeneged in there school will not preform well,  can be loud, outspoken and depressed that they are starved for knowledge staying behind with the rest of the class.

when the time comes for my son to test out of shcool, i will leave it in his hands. and do whatever he decides to do, if he wants to go ahead and take a ged and go to comunity college for two years while his friends are in highschool and then go on to a four year school when they do and already have half of it completed. then i will do what it takes to put him thorugh it.  if he wishes to go ahead and stay in school even thought it bores him and he has already passed the requirements and just goes to hang out, then i will let him do that.

i had a good friend and guitar student who most people thought was a moron, i mean a completely stupid person, barely able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

turns out he fails the 9th grade,  takes it over and is about to fail it again. cause of suspensions for fighting cause he had long hair.  and for not applying him self.

i talked to his mom and dad and they let him drop out.  he studied for his ged the whole time he was out of shcool and worked the rest of the time,  when he turned 18 he went and passed his ged at a 100% and went into college for mechanical engineering and automotives.   he currently works for FORD  and makes more than his parents or i have ever seen.

so much for the GenX "slacker, hippie no account worthless generation that we are always labled as."

ans again sorry for the rant  but i felt it needed to be said.

I"m going UNder.    :P

I've got my kids hooked on the Who & other classic rock. I didn't really push it on them, but they run around the house singing Pinball Wizard and Amazing Journey! I guess they naturally recognize quality. I couldn't be prouder. They like Evenescence too. I try to talk to them and stuff, and not ignore them. There'll be no Columbines from my house. Not if I can help it.
