Hello everybody

I would like to know the frequency bandwith of the AMZ Mosfer Booster. I plan on building one as a microphone preamp to plug a sennheiser 825S (or something like that, I haven't bought it yet) in the "line in" of my soundcard. But I would need a frequency bandwith adapted to voice... so I'm asking for help :)

Thanks

But I would venture to say [I use one as Mic booster] that the frequency responce and distortion characteristics of this ckt are as good as you'll find at 9v with such a low parts count...
Not only that the Mosfet Boost is a great thing to have around for many clean boost applications...I'll be usin' it tonight for just about the whole gig...

I used it to record my band using Sm57 and NT3 and worked great, I wish it had more gain, but you can use 2 in a row and it didn't distort audibly.

Good luck

Thank you for your answers ! (Damn I just realised I mistyped Mosfet ..)

Miguel you said it could have more gain .. Well do you know any other preamp that could do the job with a little more gain ? Maybe the FET cable I've seen lying around somewhere.

And Jack, what do you mean by flat ?

Thanks !

it has a flat frequencie response as in it is not boosting any particular range more than another.  like guitar pedals are 99% of the time voiced frequency wise for guitar.

I built both the Mosfet booster and the FET cable, and the Mosfet booster has more gain (at least in my case...).

I use the FET cable just to minimise signal lost with a fixed gain, but the Mosfet booster is really a preamp with adjustable gain.

What I like to use for microphones is the Mosfet booster first to get a stronger signal and then an opamp preamp (often configured as a mixer) for the other part of the circuit if I need it.

I mean I needed more gain on some applications, like recording vocals. May be a fault of construction in my booster, as I was never able to get the gain I was supposed to get. But the sound is great, you should build two, so you can use both inputs (L and R) of the sound card as a 2-track recorder.
