Hi,
Has anybody tried any mod on this pedal?
I'm not satisfied at all and I'd like to try something different.
Thank you,
Marcello

I made a few changes according to the reply by Mr Mark Hammer..See the thread. http://www.diystompboxes.com/sboxforum/viewtopic.php?t=239&highlight=ds2

I tried a few of the mods and didnt notice a lot of difference. Boss pedals are a  pain to work on IMO. Try a few of these mods at the link provided and see what you think. Ive opted to let mine sit in a box while i have more fun with my tube screamer i just built.

Good Luck

What are you not satisfied about eh?

i do Commercial mods for DS-1 boxes.  i mainly Mess with the diodes, and a few caps....  Let me know if your interested and i'll tell you how/what i do.  BTW DS-1 And DS-2 are the same basic circuitry as i remember; so it would still be the same, man....

Hi,
I think stock DS-2 sound it's too much 'synthetic' to my ears. Also the turbo mode it's a bit annoying, with this open-wah-like vibe.
BTW I changed one of the clipping diode with a 1n4002 and things, at least with turbo off, got better (2nd order harmonics?).
I'm going to change a bit the tone cap, just to experiment different roll-off frequencies.
thank you for your help,
M.
