This a really dumb question so hang with me.  I'm not much on using pedals (I just like building them) so I don't have much experience using different types.  I was digging through a box in the basement of my new place and found an MXR Loop Selector - no manual just the pedal.  My question - how do I hook this thing up?  Can I run a dry signal through one side and pedals through the other?
Sorry for remedial question but like I said my effects chain is usually guitar, chord, amp.  Thanks

I don't know how to tell you this Al (I only discovered it recently), but the 'pedal fairy' doesn't exist! (your folks probably left it there while you were asleep   )

Damn I wish there was a pedal fairy! :D
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

My mom says you're just being mean and that the Pedal Fairy DOES exist - but apparently he's illiterate and doesn't leave manuals just pedals.

Loop selectors are intended for en masse switching of combinations of pedals, regardless of their current status.  So, I could have six pedals, with pedals A, B, D, and F "on" and the loop selector would either insert them into the path, as is, or else yank them out.  While they are in or out of the path/loop I can still bypass/engage any one I want, but the typical use is to get them set up while out of the path then kick in the lot of them, and kick them out.

This means you should have in input, an output to the amp, and at least one set of send/receive jacks.  Send goes to the  input of the first pedal in line, and receive takes its feed from the last pedal in line.

Make sense?

BTW, there IS a pedal fairy, but he just tends to crochet cute little frilly holders for his pedals....

Mark,

Thank you for the explanation.  I was assuming that's what it was used for but I didn't know for sure.  Now I guess I can start hooking up all those pedals that are in my closet.  Hmmm?? Crochet holders for pedals.  I feel ebay calling me.  Thanks again and Happy New Year!!
