Hi all !

I got a Westone bass on which I installed two passive fender pickups. Now I'm gonna sell it and about to get the two original active pickups in.

When I got the guitar, the two (westone) pickups were badly wired and missed the preamp circuit.

Any good circuit for two active bass pickups ? diagram ?

Thanks

Can't give you the Weston original but this one is a good start,

The values of the pots on that schematic are for active pickups. To use standard pickups, ignore the pick-up and pot  wiring on the schematic, just bolt your existing wiring/pots onto the point where the 1M and 47nF cap connect at the input.

Not really, a significant fraction of bass preamps (regardless of cost/reputation) look like this.  What you can do is play around with the cap values.  The bass cap is pretty close to right but you could try up or down a value from that shown and check your preferences.  The 330pF cap changes the sparkle/edgyness.  The 6n8 cap is probably the one which will vary the most according to your taste,  try halving the value until it sounds where you like it and once you find the right tone region try values in this area until it's what you want.
