No biggie... But if you have built one and find it a little too bright, stick a 1k resistor between the battery and the V+ buss. This lowers a fresh 9v (putting out about 9.5v) down to around 8.5v. I think it sounds smoother this way, and you get the added bonus of less noise. I discovered this by accident, playing with a battery that was worn down to around 8.5v.
