Strangely enough, since I've gotten into DIY, I now take a lot less pedals to gigs. I used to use a Dyna-Comp, TS9, GT2, RAT II and BD2 for gain effects. Now I just take my Orange Squeezer, Rangemaster and Mosfet Boost and use the *Marshall* channel of my amp for OD.

Guitars

'93 Gibson Les Paul Studio w/ Ebony fretboard
American Deluxe Ash Strat w/ Bill Lawrence 280s
80's era Ibanez Blazer setup for slide
Original Ibanez RG550 ( rarely makes it to gigs, but a fine guitar neverthless. )

Amp

Rivera Quiana 55 watt 2X12

Effects

in front:

Orange Squeezer*
Tychobrahe Octavia*
DOD 201 w/ *vibe*,  rate and TBP mods
Rangemaster clone*
AMZ Mosfet boost*

*=DIY

in loop:

Fulltone Supa-Trem
KMD Analog Delay
Digitech PDS 8000
Alesis Midiverb

I am working on putting a pedalboard together, at which point I will probably reintroduce my 535Q wah, Emma Discumbobulator (auto-wah), DIY Ge Fuzz Face, Ibanez CS505 chorus and EB Volume pedal. Gotta paint my DIY stuff before I can slap velcro on it tho

The other guitar player in my band uses an Epi Flying V and a G&L Tele with Bardens into a Peavey Classic 50 with just a Boss DD5 and an Ibanez DE7 (? chorus flanger thingy) and sounds awesome.

Hullo Ammscray--
Yeah, I heard you traded him a Guild hollow-bodied Sonex [with a rare chipboard body] for that V!
B.

Hullo Hungreyhippie-
There was a Concord amp here in town [Austin} a while back at this store that I did repairs for [One World Music, now defunct..]  I almost  snagged it for pretty cheap [$300 or so..]   Did you do any mods on yours??
Brian.

Hungeryhippie

hello, If you get the chance get one, its a no frills amp just sound,  the treble and bass don’t really do that much but that’s not a worry the louder it goes the better it sounds and with a range master in front of it, its awesome.  No I haven’t  modded it at all, it’s just the way it’s all ways been. But you know what they say " If it aint broke............"

acromarty

Boss BD-2 (modified)

Boss CE-2 chorus
Digitech RP-7 multi-fx board in the amp's fx loop for echo/reverb

My live set-up connsists of

Guitar -> boss NS-2 Noise suppressor (Loop -> DOD FX-25 autowah -> loop return) -> Dual Rectifier (Loop -> digital delay -> return).

Pretty simple.  Low maintence and kind of fool proof.

For guitars I have a Jackson PS-3t (tuned dropped B), a Jackson Kelly (Also Dropped B), a Schecter Omen 6 (Dropped D), and a guitar I just beat up and experiment on (Tuned to the fancy of the day).

Peter Snowberg

My live setup is a little different:

10 Viewlex LumenMasters 500W with dial slide tray mods
USN Training Center Overhead projector modified to ENX lamp
4 Kodak Ektagraphic AF-2s
2 USAF Bell&Howell 16mm Analyzer projectors
Assorted misc. 35mm slide projectors
Full set of liquid dishes
Big selection of crystal
transparancies
Hundreds of handmade 35mm slides
Color wheels
Strobe wheels
Effect wheels
Assorted HeNe lasers
125mw Argon laser

As you may have guessed, I'm from the lightshow. ;)

Take care,
-Peter

i like this thread.............
my rig hondo2 strat copy( do not scoff not indonisian made one like on ebay.japenese made from the eighties it has a fat warm tone.and im a tone snob 8) .noisy pickups though  :( )>rat set to very low distortion 7 or 8 o'clock low end cranked>big muff pi full sustain 12o,clock on the tone>vox wah>a/b box, chanell A>directly into input 1 of the vibrato channel of my 68'dual showman reverb, channel B>boss od-2 set to turbo(i usually combine it with the bigmuff for gnarly feedback ridden riffs or just noise)>digitech pds 2000 sampler delay>boss dd-3 delay>mu-tron wah/volume>script phase 90>input 2 of vibrato channel of formentioned amp.
as i mentioned before my pickups are a bit noisy.when i turn on the big muff or od-2 this is most deffinately noticable iv'e gotten good at not switching them on till i need them and maintaining a smooth sound its all timing.

well, my 'rig' if you will, is this:

Various Ibanez guitars, an austin strat copy.
The Ibanez are an rg170 with stock bridge and neck pups, and a single coil mid tha i switched from the another ibz, a stagestar.  the austin is crap.  pure and utter crap.  i hate it, but sometimes you need that sound.

i run those into (currently) a modified DOD grunge (taped over the name on the box, now reads FLASH! l337 p3|)4l!, because i put in some better IMHO, components), a dunlop wah, a Big Muff (added some 2n7000's with the 2n5089s, whoa...) and a chorus.

all those go into a 150w(i think...) peavey renown 212 scorpion equipped ss amp.  fairly quiet unless i kick in all the ODs and fuzzes through my wah.
Peace 'n Love
