Hi, I want to build a phaser type effects pedal. I was considering the small stone but apparently the IC's are hard to get hold of. Also i don't like the fact that the small stone doesn't have a depth control to mix the effected signal with the dry. Can someone pease suggest some othe pedals that sound great with parts that aren't too hard to get hold. Or maybe they know of a good mod to do to the small stone for the added control?

Try the phase 90:

(thanks to geofex for the pic)

It's op amp based.  Nice phaser.  For a blend knob, simply wire a pot with the output jack in the middle, the input on the left, and the output from the effect on the right.

...but you MUST match the fets, search in geofex.com the article about jfet matching, before you start building this and get into frustration

The CA3094 is difficult to get hold of and a little pricey when you do.  The CA3080, used in the Tonepad clone of the SS, and the LM13600 used in the Ross phaser (VERY close to a SS and better in some ways and also available at Tonepad), however, are reasonably priced and fairly readily obtained.  I've built both and the Ross is a smaller, less parts-intensive board.  Works nice.  Recommended.

Gonna try the ross one , thanks Mark!
