Just to let everyone know what we all probably know already to an extent:
expensive does NOT mean better.
I now own 2 unibits, of different brands (have to ask the dealer though) and prices.
Exhibit A is slightly longer, made of bare steel, and only has one cutting groove, exhibit B is shorter, coated black and has two grooves.

Exhibit B cost 3 times of what A cost, and guess what. B is now blunt (to the poit of edges having folded over)  after just two Hammond boxes, while I've had A for a year or two.

FWIW, I'm happy with Vermont brand. And I use "cool tool" spray lube or Tapmatic cutting fluid.

I use the Vermont American as well. But I grew up in Vermont so...

Anyway, I've drilled with it through steel and alum., have had it for about three years and it is just started to need to be replaced.

FWIW,

I've grown up and lived my whole life in Vermont as well, and use Vermont American stuff most of the time - but interestingly enough, the company is headquarted in Lousiville Kentucky, and as far as I know has little if any connection to this state.  According to their website, they have no business locations in the state.  We still seem to talk 'em up when we're talking to flatlanders though.  ;)

I would sure like to know what brand "B" is so I can avoid it.
