You can't even get that price with mouser when you order 100.  I would jump on it, but I don't know how big the non-sloped part is :?

Thin sloped might be kool.
I like the idea of having the switches LOW and in the frront fow.
Plenty of room in the back is never there on my RACO conversions...[The tall RACO's...OK, I think they look a bit too funky], Looks like there's plenty of room for something 'else' in there, besides the phaser and the boost with TC.
Having the jacks come out high in the back leaves room for power supply and related wirings's [that effect you hardly ever adjust that there's no room for in the front row] to be under the patches
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

aren't these the ones in .050" aluminum? I always feel like they're too thin to stomp on. Anyone know where to get something just like that but in .080" or so???

I think someone said that they were just fine, but I'm not sure, because I haven't tried one.  The price difference between this one and a hammond equivalent is incredibly dramatic, either way.

I've used them before. If they're the same model I used, I would say that they are *not* thick enough, but more because of how they are constructed. The sloped part is only supported by two very narrow protrusions from the sides of the enclosure, and the sloped bit has a tendency to push the sides outward, allowing the slope to drop inside the pedal if you step hard.

yep, i've used one of these for a fat boostered. i bought it at fry's electronics. it looked great and seemed fairly sturdy, but when i gigged with it, i found the metal gave way when i stepped on the switch. i have the dpdt mounted on the sloped part. i also found that i stomp much harder in a live situation than when i'm trying something out at home....go figure! that's my two cent's worth. they do look good, and there's room on top for plenty of knobs!!!      thanks,  jon

Hmm.. that's really too bad.  I could imagine that the sloped part would give if you put a decent amount of force on it, but I didn't think it would be too bad.  Ooooh well.

I built my first effect in one of those. The metal is way too weak for stomping. I ended up adding blocks of wood inside to (sort-of) stop it from crushing.

Die cast aluminum will spoil you very quickly.
