I'm working on this one.. can someone help me drawin' a PCB for this circuit ? (I study informatical engineering.. so mi electronics knowlege is more theorical than pratical :P ...)
I think it could be a very versatile "heavy" distortion despite of the "nasty" name :P.

Thank you!!

Despite what many say about DOD, I really like this pedal. I think its got some usefull sounds. Does anyone know of a schem for it?

Transmogrifox

Yeah, it is available from a couple sources, I got it a while ago...

Anyway, do a search in Schematics 2 for DOD Death Metal Distortion (FX56? or is FX56 the grunge pedal???)  From what I remember the grunge pedal is pretty much a modded death metal pedal.

If you don't find the schematic easily, email me :

transmogrifox@yahoo.com

And I'll scan it in and send one to you.

The one I have has Guilherme's or Howie's mods included...but all the mod does is add a gain pot so the gain isn't hard-wired.  If you build one yourself, you can socket the IC's and diodes and do a bunch of other modding and experimenting to make it more flexible.

Dod Death Metal is FX-86 :)

that's the modded schematic

but i'm not so good to draw a good PCB for this :/

Death metal is fx86, I have one and use it regularly with my small amp, it sounds like poo through my big amp though.

Davide,

I have an untested PCB for the modified schematic below.  It is in AutoCAD format, but people have said that it isn't too hard to convert that to other easily printable formats using ghostscript or something similar.  (I do all of my PCBs in AutoCAD, so it isn't a problem for me....I guess it is just a sickness  :) ).

Let me know if you would like to give it a shot.  You can e-mail me at the following address: datilderekATexciteDOTcom

If you want a versatile distortion, try any of Joe Davisson's effects.

Somicide

i had one of those, i really like it too, it  boosted my highs pretty nice.  THen some jerkass stole it and a Digitech Multichorus from my friends car.  Nothing worse than stealing a gutiarists effects.

Cool. I've been after one of these pedals but can't seem to get hold of one in the UK.

Does anyone have a scheme for the DoD Meat Box?
