Somehow i get the feeling i missed the boat :(

Mockman was the OA Vs OA test circuit.
 Opinion:
 Hands down winner first...TI4558
The 5532 just didn't have distortion like the 4558, and it didn't seem like that subtle a difference...I went back and forth between these two a couple of times.
Tl072, though distorty somewhat like the 4558, was clearly outmatched.
First two descriptive words: Noise and Dynamics.
 Third word TOne.
I'm IMO a picky OA builder, I've done countless DIST +'s a Rat, a TS [which I like very much 5532 thank you], and about every other kinda OA build under say 40 parts. Micro Amps...
The TS is the only one that survived.
When it comes to hard distortion, my Transistor builds take over.
The inbetweens that TS type feedback loop clippers are where I seem so far to like my OA's. Well that and modulation etc type effects.
Maybe I still just haven't tried the right OA outsignal clipping circuit...tried enough diodes...
So fay the Mockman saw quite the large improvement, I think it's an excellent sounding pedal now. I didn't before...the difference in OA choice is instantly noticable, after playing for sometime I decided this circuit is sounding really great !!!
Now what to put the next 5532, 5534, or 4458/9 in...

I am probably gonna order some (ahem) samples from ONsemi. For 14,95 shipping they send you insane amounts of stuff  Gotta wait till my TI and Maxim samples get here first though, just incase I have to pay import tax...
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

I went through the registering process, and remembered my password, the same one...can't seem to log in there thog...

I got logged in !!!
Now to figure out the part #'s to order...
 Suggestions more than welcome !!!

Looke like they have op amps in the samples section, but I recognize no part numbers...what have you sample ordered from them..?

Try using their cross reference search, it finds most stuff.

Yay.  I felt too guilty to max out all the quantities  :(

smoguzbenjamin

Did you get that from ONsemi? No questions asked?

bobbletrox

No, sorry!  Texas Instruments.

Onsemi would be good if they didn't charge overseas shipping.

smoguzbenjamin

Ah, I got a set from TI that is in Philadelphia right now ;) I hope that they don't charge megabucks for import tax  :?

...Good thing this is free...I would give up!!!
Well I must be dohh...I ccan't seem to get a thing into the sample cart at Maxim...very small selection of smaples I've never heard of too..
I must be missing something there...TI was easy...
Tried poking around at the Mazim site, but don't see much of anything very interesting there...any suggestions on how to 'pilot around' on that site?

At Maxim, click buy, and then Samples and Litterature. If youre not registered, go to the members link.

What do you guys put for company and position in the TI registration thing?  Just bs?

smoguzbenjamin

I say "Student". I'm still in school so it figures :)
