I didn't know what to title this topic because there are a lot of concepts here.... but I have an old DOD 690 Chorus and it has footswitch control to go between two preset speeds for Leslie-like effects.

A) I would like to find the capacitor that set the amount of time it takes to morph over to the new setting, and make it slower.

B) Can this idea be applied to other LFO-controlled pedals? Tremolos? Phasors?

C) Can this idea be applied to non-LFO circuitry? Say to morph between two GAIN settings, or DEPTH settings, etc?

D) Can R.G.'s LERA circuit be applied here? Anyone build that?

A) I don't know where the cap would be located. Maybe you could trace out what is connected to the footswitch and find it that way.

D) I have used RG's LERA circuit. I used it in conjunction with my Neovibe. To do so I also used his idea for replacing the dual-ganged speed pot with a dual LED/LDR. It works wonderfully, after a bit of tweaking. Is it the same as what is going on in the DOD pedal, I don't know. It would be nice to know how the DOD pedal does it.

B) The LERA can be applied to almost any LFO circuit where the speed is controlled by varying the resistance.

C) Should work with a gain/drive control, considering that it is resistance controlled. That might be cool, never thought of that one.

btw, nice pedal

I opened up my 690 today, but after realizing the pots are soldered directly to the PCB, I decided to save that for another day. I did, however, notice a 5K trimpot. Not sure what it is connected to.

Also, found this  690 mod that Mark Hammer posted a few months ago.

take a look at the Jet Phaser schem (floating around here somewhere)..
that one ramps up/down like a leslie... very cool

Is the Jet Phaser schematic posted anywere? I did a search of the forum and saw a few references to a schem, but no direct links.

Thanks.

I found my old DOD 690 the other day. I have had it for years, but I have never used it. A friend gave it to me, because it did not have a pover supply. I think that US versions have internal PS?
Well, this one does not, I think that they have sold these with external PS in my country.

Problem is that I am not sure about the correct operating voltage. I had a testdrive with 9v, and it seemed to work. AND WHAT A GGREAT SOUND .
However effect on led ,and the light on the pover switch seemed, well, not wery bright. So I was thinking that maybe this device is designed to operate on higher voltage...

Have any of you 690 owners any idea?
