Boss CE-3 Chorus Pedal Mods

Are there any recommended mods for the old Boss CE-3 MIJ chorus pedal?  I'm trying to get this closer in sound to the model which preceeded it, the CE-2.  In comparison, the CE-3 is much thinner sounding with more midrange tonality emphasis, and the chorus depth seemed greater on the CE-2.

Any mod suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Does anyone happen to have a schematic of the BOss CE-3 chorus? I'm trying to repair my pedal.
