a bit confusing, i have a pair of ac128 ,when i look at it from the bottom ,there is a mark (a red dot) at the right hand side, something like this (.'.).
While i look at the bottom side of my ac188k(with heat sink),the mark is at the left side .(.'.)
can anyone show me which one is emiiter ? thanks

Don't look at the marks...

Looking at the bottom with the pins facing you,   form the triangle with the top point of the triangle on the top,  The top pin is the base, the one to the left is the emitter, the one tothe right is the colector.
Hope this helps!

Does it look like this? Then the red dot is the collector.

If it comes in a metal can package , a small notch normally indicates the emitter.
