I don't bother with surplus anymore because like Brian, I'm looking for consistancy. 0.1uF caps vary all over the place.

I've just bought a whole lot of caps off ebay, and they're probably new old stock, but can high quality box style film caps go bad in just a few years? I hope not, I'm planning to let them go a hundred at a time for $10.00 shipped. .22, .47, .68 & 1uF

I kinda like the fact that I'm gonna have this huge pile of them. This will probably be a one-off deal where I keep a few hundred and mail out the rest.

I get a few things off eBay, lots of tants or fets that are otherwise tricky to get in the UK.  I just got 52 tants for £5, Maplin sell the same cao for £1 each.  I would look to one supplier if, like Brian, I had a product to  supply though.
