I made this by myself. Using silkscreen printing for an almost professional looking. I did the printing by myself. Silkscreen printing is not that hard as you might think. You guys must try this!

Excellent!  That doesn't look "almost" professional - it looks professional!  :)

Good idea and nice work.  I've been recommending this (power distribution box) to folks for ages.  That's almost $20 worth of jacks you have there!

puretube

WOW does that look cool !!

Hey Wizard: those isolated sockets are hard to find over here lately,
could you tell me who manufactures them, or where you have them from?

Thanks a lot...

swangor

Which power supply project is this?

I don't recognize this one off hand
A link to a schem or site would be helpful.  I've been thinking of power supplies for a while now.  I've seen the daisy chain type, the spyder and a couple others.  Any info would help.

Oh yeah, the box look real cool with the silk screen printing.

Thanks,
Rob S.

Ton, Mouser has them.

Pick on Plastic DC Power Jack

I didn't look at all products offered, they may have better options.

You work inspires me, Thank you!

nice job , i dig your logo too

thanx Jason: now I know where I will be able to find`em.

(still hope to find the manufacturer, too).

Can you explain (or point us to an explaination)  how you did that printing... it looks awesome, I'd like to try it

Looks great!  I have been wanting to try silk screening on my boxes.  Do you have a link to how we could learn to do this?

Actually it took me only $4 usd for these DC jacks. All components you saw in the pictures  are very ceap in Taiwan.

Have you ever heard of LM-317 or 7809? If you know how to use them, you can biuld a power supply easily. This power supply is based on a linear regulator. You can find how to use a 3-terminal linear regulator in it's datasheet. Here I am using LM-3940-9 for this one. LM-3940  is a good regulator with high performance and easy to use. Please look in it's datasheet for details.

Wow, that's the dog's doo-dahs!  I wish my stuff locked that cool!!!

You can get similar jacks in the UK from Rapid Electronics.

hi wizard, any links for step by step screen printing ? i've tried that myself before,or could you kindly show us how to do that screen printing ? thanks  :D

I have problem describing the printing processes in English.

The best way is to buy a book and have some one to make the silkscreen for you. But you have to do the drawing yourself, of course. With a book, all rest things won't be diffcult to follow.

You can build a simple printing table(board) with MDF boards. I'll take some pictures of my equipments to give you some ideas.

Sorry for my poor English. I am Chinese.

Wizard, That looks very professional! :D 8)

Very nice job!!!!

You English is very good by the way. :D I understand everything you said perfectly.

Take care,

Yeah, I understand that, I've just been trying to decide if I wanted to go through the trouble of schematics like the spyder or something with transformers so I could isolate the each effect's power to avoid ground loops.

Maybe I will just go the easy route like you did and use a single regulated power supply IC and split it for the outputs.  Thank you for the info.

I agree with Peter.  Your English is very understandable.  You are more fluent than you give yourself credit for.  Don't even ask me to speak or write Chinese.  I had a friend from Taiwan who tried to teach me some basic Chinese and I never quite got it.  The tonal influxes were very difficult to grasp.

Thanks,
Rob S.

Hi swangor,
In my opinion, ground loop is not that horrible. Thousands of people are using Dunlop DC Brick that have ground loops, too. Are their pedals noisy all the time? Or are there always hums all the time? It depends on the environment surrounding you and your effects.

If you want to spend lots of money to go for a "VooDoo Lab Pedal Power II" style  power supply, that's good! I want to build one if I got money and time. In this way , I won't have to worry aboub electromagnetic fields that might cause hums. Just be a happy guitar player.

But if you need to save money, single regulator IC would be enough. You won't  get hums if you take care of the power transformers, just take them far away from your pedals. Also, hums caused by ground loops could be solved by some tricks.

Truths  are that lots of people who use my power supplys haven't  complained abou hums so far.

I wish these information could help you a little bit.
