Octup Blender

Has anyone built the Octup Blender from tim's site ?

This is a clean octave... right ?

What other clean octave schems are around ?

i acually haven't built it, but
U R correct, it is an octave-Up-type circuit.
I would do the mixing of the 2 activerectifiers a little differently.
Like,  mix each separately AND series, total of 3 mixes.
Since all stages are inverting, an inverting stage after
each rectifier, also mixed in(now total of 5) .
Lots of mixes varies the fuzzffaazeing.... :-)
Oh, and ToneControl, FERSURE!

I wouldn't call it clean. It just allows blending of the octave and the clean sound via level knob for each.

Tim, how about the back to back jfet octave on your site with the darlington.. is that cleaner (less fuzz) than the Octup Blender ?

Yes, it's cleaner.

One thing you might need to consider. I don't think there is such a thing as a truly clean octave up, unless you go with a good digital unit. They can all get pretty nasty pretty easily. Some of the "fuzz" designs can sound fairly clean when driven with low gain.
