I found this tone circuit: http://www.muzique.com/lab/tone3.htm

and want to use it to replace the onboard tone circuit on my j-bass guitar. i've got active EMG pickups running at 18V right now.

i've built one pedal (orange squeezer) and am looking for the next project, so i have some experience, but not in the area of determining possible uses for a circuit. could i take this circuit and just plop it into my bass? it's designed for use in pedals, right? does that mean it wouldn't work as well directly from the output of my bass? are there any obvious adjustments necessary for this application?

i tried searching but couldn't find any discussion of this particular topic....

any help is appreciated.

hm well your output of the picups would be low imp so it should work nicely for it,

It worked fine in a guitar I built with two minor caveats; one, you may need to try some tweaking with pot values and lin/log type to get the range of adjustment you want, and two, like most tone circuits, it's pretty lossy, and so could do with a booster on the output.

thanks for the input. time to pull out the soldering iron.........
