EH Worm question

I didnt get the 12 v? 24v? who knows? (I read somewhere different everywhere) adpter that is supposed to come w it since i didnt buy brand new in box--i tried connecting it to my valvolator regulated supply 12v and nothing..i noticed its not quite a 2.1..jack but i made something close to fit yet other regular 9v plugs wont fit..Does Eh have a special adapter that can only run this thing? i gave it 12v and light dont even come on.. i looked inside at the jack and it seems only 2 of the 3 lugs have a wire connected to them..Also where we would connect the ground on one of these, theres a red wire there..hmm

anyone have any ideas here? i cant find info anywhere.
