im on my6th or 7th project now, and im considering building an orange squeezer,
would anyone recommend point to point wiring on perf, or is it best to make a pcb?

There's a layout for it in General Guitar Gadgets and another one in Tonepad. You can buy the board ready to solder too.

I used the GGG layout and etched a board..
It's certainly doable on perf, but I don't like perf

PCB's are almost always better, for the following reasons:

1) The components are held rigidly in place which prevent accidental breakage of leads of some kinds.

2) The profile of the solder side of the board once the component lead ends are neatly snipped is generally shallower than a perfboard where the connections are made by bending things around each other.  Makes for a much neater and easier fit inside the chassis.

3) You can more easily tell when you have all the components installed and where to find them.

4) All connections are already made for you so none of those I-forgot-to-connect-that-part-over-there-to-ground things happen.  A PCB is a prosthetic device for memory - important for projects that take more than one night.

5) Little or no use of flying leads that pass over sensitive areas and risk oscillation or noise.

6) Probabaly a convenient and troublefree layout.

7) Changing a component value only involves THAT component and not everything else wrapped around it.

Against PCB and in favour of perf:

1) No nasty chemical spill or splash or storage issues.

2) No need to buy a drill press or dremel.

3) No waiting to etch.

4) All your parts will fit the available spacing because the spacing is made to fit *them* (although some things like switches or pots don't always fit 1/10" spacing).

5) Location of leads is flexible.  Can go where you plan them to keep lead length short and convenient.

6) Can tailor board to fit the chassis that you have, rather than the one you need to buy.

7) Can often be made smaller than a PCB layout.

Having said all of that, the OS build is pretty small and simple, and there are so many nifty mods that are not part of anyone's posted layout yet, that a perfboard build invites more usefulness with less penalty .  PCB it if you have the time and patience, but perfing won't be too much of a hardship.

I've drawn a pcb for the OS+++, but it's untested so far. If there's interest, i'll post it.
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.

I bought a PCB from GGG and built it ASAP, now I'm the BMOC, IMNSHO!

I perf simpler things though.

The OS should be fairly staightforward to perf.
