there is a swollen capacitor in my amp!will it hurt other componants if i use it beetween now and when i fix it(a couple days)it is affecting the sound.gotta jam though.

If it's swollen, it's probably not doing anything useful. Pull it out quick and try the amp without it. Its absence shouldn't do the amp any physical harm, might just push the hum up a bit. (I'm assuming it's probably a big power supply one). But like Paul says, you don't want it to blow.

Exactly how is it "affecting the sound"?
The only reason for a cap to swell up, is if there is pressure inside it, whihc must be from the electrolyte boiling!! and, that means leakage (the leakage current running thru the cap is what does the heating).
So you might already be overloading a transformer, or a rectifier.
I'd play "unplugged" till you can fix it, myself!

that was my end conclusion.leave it alone until its fixed.it hums a bit more then when i got it and it pops a very little bit it didnt before.i think the filter caps have already been replaced.i figure ill replace all the electrolytic caps they all look pretty old.its a fender dual showman reverb does anyone know if its brand particular as far as caps go, any recomendations
