Boss MD-2 mods

I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas/links about modifying the md-2 pedal??  I like the control it provides but is nearly useless because it distorts too hard..even for a metal pedal......Also, it doesn't work well with other distortion-type pedals....but i think it could be used very well if modded correctly......Suggestions??
