I've been using amp plate. The kind comes on the back of Onkyo tuner.
I't looks like the sheets they make amp frames out of.
I chopped a square [using two already parallel sides, that helps] then cut the squares out of the corners and scored and bent the tabs over to make the top and sides of the box.
THis is nice because I get the dimensions larger and to the specs I want.
then I put all the stuff in [one Is the Thunderchief w/ Rangepig...two tastes that go great together],,,the other is a TS and a modded SD=1.
Then I 'wrap' in it a wood frame [4 sides only] ...this covers the rough corners, and is quite easy with a chop saw...oh after cutting in a slot for the jack/plugs to go through.
I think they look and work fantastic...[the waterfall/hydro electric shounds in the SD somehow got cured...I think it just needed 'run for a time...er sumfin'?]
One thing that made me want to do these is that RACO's are not the optimum shape Mo for working circuits into. I find with a flatter, wider case it's easier to see inside and get the irons tip  to the deeper places.
For PB mounting, I use rubber feet, threaded perf, and fine thread machine screws carefully self threaded  into the perf. Having N/P for enough time to say very easy to get solid N/P mountings this way.  Nice cause the rubber feet hold the screw in place...and no nut to drop. seens to hold tight, and self' lock tite. Mess with trash perf, outlet to junction box/ wall switch mounting screws, hole in a sheet, and rubber foot with a hole in it [has to be at least 3/8'' tall], then test for strength. A cut/sanded flat Bic Pen tube is another alternatative to the rubber feet.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
