any "U" shaped piece of metal could work.
cut 2 length.

i'm going 2 give it a try soon.
U need at least inch&ahalf height 4 inside of box.

Hey

8 switches?????

If you dont want to spend any money i recommend using an old VCR enclosure. Easy to drill and usually made of metal too. You could also use a cable receiver or a DVD player. If you happen to have any of this kind of thing laying around they're great. I used a VCR case and put in some metal posts in the middle to give support to the top.

Just rip out all the inners and cut some plastic to cover the front/back holes left behind. Or leave the front panel on and wire it up so it just looks good :)

How's that for a cheapo idea?

for the footswitch and

Steel stud. 2" x 6" size, 18ga steel. 2.5" spacing on switches gives an overall length under 20".

You may wonder how I know this...

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Made up something similar a while back ... I bought a non-working network switch and a bust Cisco 2500 Router for next to nothing. Thick aluminium, stompable, 19" wide, 8" deep, 1.5" tall.

Switch became a floor switcher (6 switches) and the router case got a couple of pedals in it. My own multi-fx ;)
