I just built Rebote2 Delay from http://www.tonepad.com/project.asp?id=27

It's not working  :(

1. Absolutely no sound.
2. The 5v regulator heats up a lot.
3. When I multimetered the positive and negative
terminals of the battery clip, it registerers a resistance.
Is this possible for a circuit power supply to behave this way.
4. Looking at the schematic, you can see the two 10k resistors in series
that connects from 9v + supply to ground.
5. I have already carefully inspect any short circuit and found
   all is clear.

I'm already getting frustrated.
Any help would be gladly appreciated.

anybody?

I may have placed my transistor the wrong way...
It appears that the input and output legs are different from
the 12v transistor  I used In my power supply.

Damn! I hate what I got myself into (DIY stuff)!!!
I cant think straight here at office..!!
All I want is to tinker!! I CANT WAIT TO GET HOME...

I think you're on the right track. Check out the 7805 voltage regulator.
Do you have 5V out to the pt2399? If not.....There it is.

Do u think my 5 volt regulator is already busted as I may have
placed it the wrong way? It doesnt have any protection diode.

Another thing. Looking at the schematic you should get sound through the circuit without the 5V. check out the supply to the OP and the VB supply.

Whats is VB?

In the middle between the two 10K resistors on the top left on the schematic. You should have 4.5V with a 9V battery.
The VB then goes to the OP, IC2A and IC2B.
