Heylo everybody... for my next thing... I want to make a booster, something like the Seymour Duncan SFX pickup booster, but I want to add a jack out, stereo, common ground, and then like the tip could be send and sleeve culd be receive, anyways the point is, for a booster to do any good othre than just add vol on my clean channle, I need it to be at the end or towards the end of my fx loop....but I want it onboard... so id be adding anothre jack to my guitar, and building a booster with this off location bypass switch but id liek to be able to use it as a stomp box aswell and the offboard bypass only would work when plugged in and when not it would have bypass by a stomp switch... any cool ideas for this? id like it to be versatile like the SFX because in one guitar ill be using EMG 81 n 85s and the other Seymour Duncan 59' and Dimebucker... so active / passive switch maybe? then a boost knob... maybe some other controls if anything you can think of would be nifty... so can anyone help ??? itll be greaaaaatly appreciated

I'm really not sure what you are asking for, but I think what you have in mind may be something like the late Jerry Garcia's rather elaborate guitar wiring.  Check this out:

Hope it helps,

thats cool.. and very interesting but wouldnt really help me... i could work it into what im trying to do but really thats not my aim, thanks tho.... im guna svae that for a future guitar project.... anyways.. I need a booster, just a little stomp box booster, clean boost, possibly a 3 band eq... it has to be a pedal because i HAVE to put it in the effects loop for it to have any use while im in the distortion channles, they have active controls and set a limit so 10 on the volume is say whatveer decibles, and it will stay that many decibles, unlike the clean passive which does get louder... so still looking for a Booster, maybe an eq in it, clean boost. someone earlier reccommended the micro amp... any one have a way of getting the schem for the Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster pedal, its red and have a knob, footsiwtch and slider switch, goto musicians friend and search for seymour duncan SFX-01 or something close to that.... thats whaaaaat i wannttt thanks guys

So you just want the controls onboard your guitar, but the acttual unit in an effects loop?

Just the bypass on the guitar or the whole show?

sort of like the Magic Dingus Box?

or am I off base on what you are doing

well... heres my plan.. i just got a new box thing and its really cool... ok i want to make a booster pedal, i need hte schematic for it.... read up for info on that... now i need to have some way of getting a switch, OFF the pedal, so the bypass can be in my one Switching pedal, the switching pedal right now has a volume and kill switch, i have one more hole open so a booster bypass stomp switch will go there, so basically its just the bypass switch of the booster, off board, originally i was gunna run this upto my guitar, make it all nifty and at hand, but this is the... smarter way.. sorry bout the confusions my bad.. need to get more sleep ;(

You could make a FET Preamp Cable like this one:

http://www.till.com/articles/PreampCable/index.html

but with more gain if you want so.

Then use a stereo cable to feed both the straight signal from your pick-ups, and the amplified signal on the 2 different wires.

Mono plug with a preamp inside at one end, and Stereo plug at the other end.

You would only have to choose which one you want to use (normal or boosted) with your footswitch.

I did that once to have a different sound only for solos.

But I used this kind of plug with more empty space in it...

Good luck,

thats pretty cool... thanks but not exactly what im looking for... i want just a straigt up booster pedal, pot for how much gain possibly a mini EQ, and the thing id LIKE to do is ave a mastter bypass switch on the effect box, then have a jack like ud use for an expression pedall, run that out to my control box, and then have a bypass switch for it there
