im looking for that old built in tremolo sound or some thing of the sort and i came across the electro harmonix pulsar, its 90 euro here in ireland
which is pretty good considering i have payed over double that for a crybaby.... but that a different story

el Duderino,

I've built two of the Pulsars using homemade pcbs.  The layouts/info are at Tonepad :

 http://tonepad.com/project.asp?id=14

Easy builds - I did with all scrounged parts.  One I used with RG Keen's LERA.  The other still needs a box, but they both sound great.  Alot of people like the EA Tremolo better.  Never heard that one but the EH is cool.

I think it is very cool to buy others builders stuff.  I personally have quite a few Boutique and vintage pedals.  It is very cool in my book to try other peopls stuff.  I am fairly new at bulding my own pedals and right now am loving having stuff on my board that I can say "I built that".  But other builders stuff is VERY cool as well whether it be boutique or Mass produced stuff.  As a side not dave Barber makes fome very cool stuff at Very reasonable prices.

Note that the Pulsar on Tonepad has little if anything to do design-wise with the current production model Pulsar from E-H. To throw in my .02, I built the tp pulsar and didn't really care for it. Kinda mechanical sounding and it ticks!

Everything I've heard about the new Pulsar has been real positive...

If you're going to treat yourself and get a nice new pedal, why not try to support the guys on this forum and try one of theirs?  I know of several guys here who make their own pedals (their own designs) on a regular basis.  I would think you'd get a great product, a good price, and probably some of the best customer service possible.  Let's help out our fellow forumites and show our gratitude for their contributions here.

right: the only common thing is the name, and the fact that both have a trem/chop switch.
Just checked out the new E-H Pulsar I bought: no clicking...
can (willingly) sound mechanical though, in square-wave mode at full depth (helicopter).

I would love to try out and suport some of the guys here.  We need  a list of these builders that sell stuff and what they sell.
