curious: what type of cap?

What type of cap are those ones regularly used by Boss and Ibanez for the "midvalues" (about 10-500 nF)? They are silver and come in an oval package... They aren't electrolytics, are they?

10-500nf is .01uf - .5uf. Those companies usually use ceramics for the smaller pf value caps, electro's for 1.0uf and bigger, and tantalums for some of the smaller values were they want polarized. Usually everything in the uf range up to 1.0 are usually cheap metal film, occasionally ceramics.
