hey... i've got a broken memory man delay unit... it's the one with the 4 sad1024's in it...i can't find a schem anywhere but most of the circuit looks very similar to the one with the 3005's... i'm not sure what the first steps i should take are... i tested the ic's in different circuits and they all work fine( at least the ones in the sockets are fine, the rest are just 4558's and should be pretty easy to test in the circuit)... the transformer is putting out 18volts and the volatges are getting to the 4558's... is there something that is usually the suspect for this pedal? where should be my next step to start?...

i just fixed/modded a friends deluxe memory man.. when i was done with the mods, i fired it up and it was very dead.. i searched the net, and found this page of arons: http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/mmmod.html which explains some of the wiring..

it turned out that it was a wire that looked to be soldered to the switch properly, but from taking it apart i had wiggled a couple  solder joints loose.. (one on the PCB mounted pots also).. after reheating most of the joints with no strain releif, the DMM worked fine..

while searching for the problem, i replaced all of the 4558's w/ TLO72's.. and i removed the cap across the echo out jack, and it sounded a little brighter/clear  to my ears..  to be honest i kind of prefer the more distorted repeats.. but i guess i should mention that am a huge tape echo enthusiest..

also~
the deluxe memory man i was working on had been modded for true bypass, and had the power LED wired up as an in use LED(very usefull IMO).. if you wish i could take another look at it, and describe the mods..
lemme know..

hope this helps man,
be well,
