Add LEDs to a channel switch box

Here is my existing channel-switching box.  I used an old Ibanez footswitch-the 2 pole and a single pole switch from an exectronics store.  The cable is a 25' long 1/4" headphone cord.  I need to add LEDs to this unit.  I am going to use it on a preamp where one switch selects clean/bypass and the other selects between 2 gain channel.  For that, I was thinking a dual-color LED for simplicity's sake.  The factory footswitch (about $50) also uses a stereo plug/cord and the Leds are powered by the amp circuit--no 9V.  Any suggestions?
