I put my BSIAB back together tonight as a result of boxing up a few 'keepers'; I had a borrowed a few pots and a jack off of it since it wasn't boxed up yet.
I haven't played this thing in at least a year or so, but it is a lead pedal to be reckoned with. I swapped out the .047uF cap for a .1uF film cap and the bass is nice now; not overwhelming, 16-year-old-in-Guitar-Center-on-a-Recto bassiness, but very tastefully present.
Ever-so-slightly scooped midrange sound, yet cuts through nicely on leads. I swapped out the 1000pF cap for a .0047uF and it became MUCH darker, so I swapped it back; might be a nice toggle option there as the darker sound was still usable.
I'm so happy with the BSIAB that I seriously don't know if I'm going to bother with another lead pedal, but I might. If I ever get around to it, I'll post some samples on my site.

Excellent!  I just bought a BSIAB populated PCB from Ansil.  I'll post my impressions when I get it together...

Yep. That's a great circuit! I certainly like mine.  8)

Snorky, what you bought from Ansil is a Bennett brown sound (a Distortion +)
The BSIAB is a completely different JFET based circuit. Just so you don't get the two confused.

Oh, thanks Jered!  I just found the BSIAB files on GGG...

Is this the same circuit as the one on www.tonefrenzy.com 's sound files?  If so I'm definately going to build this pedal.
It's people like us who contribute to dead fx pedals selling on eBay for what they'd cost new!
