Dean Hazelwanter

Assistant Supervisor - Applied Technology for the Saskatoon Catholic School Board. The group I'm in charge of is loosely referred to as the AV Department. We're responsible for the network infrastructure (physical layer stuff), the repair of anything that plugs in, as well as the AV stuff. We have a fleet of data projectors, laptops, soundsystems, screens etc that we setup and operate for various functions throughout our 41 locations. In the last 12 months, we've done over 400 bookings, even with 2 weeks of no school in the summer. In 3 weeks it will be 4 years here.

Before that, Manager of R&D Technical Staff for Develcon Electronics. We broke the software that was in our bridges, routers etc. Favorite saying, 'anyone can break the program, but it takes a real man to break the programmer!'    Just short of 10 years there when they went under.

Before that, Provincial Service Coordinator for a company that did POS (cash registers etc) and hospitality (liquor dispensers etc). Close to 10 years there.

You lucky dog!! :) I've always wanted to fly the 747, but I may have to settle for the 777 or the 787 later in life. :)

Be safe out there, and remember, you're living my dream. :)

Was educated as a s/w engineer and did that for too long.

Now I answer emails, order parts, put out fires, manage employees, and process orders all day and most of the night, 70 hours per week. How glamorous!

Zookeeper... I guess I am one of those too.

One of the greatest things that I have learned in life is that God did not make me to be defined by what I've done or what I do. Rather, He made us to be defined by our relationship with Him, because everything else will decay, die and will not matter when we are gone - except for those things we have done for/with the Love of God through the grace of Jesus Christ.

Currently sort of unemployed.
But I do some computer repair, give guitar lessons, dig ditches, whatever gets me cash.
Although right now I got a good shot for a job at Amazon. They have a warehouse about 15 miles from here.
My last job was an Equipment technician.
I supported the machines and all the computers on the production floor. 80+ computers plus all sorts of network gear and printers etc. I also wrote some specialized backup software (it had other features besides just backup).

The other day I saw an ad on Monster.com. Amazon was looking for a PC/network technician.
One of the managers at my last job is now a manager at Amazon. I dropped off my resume there Monday, and of course I brought up the managers name. The receptionist then put a post-it note on my resume directing my resume directly to that manager. And that manager and I got along pretty well. And he thought I did very well (not to brag or anything, but when it comes to fixing computers, I'm pretty damn good at it).

So...EVERYBODY, keep you fingers crossed, or something and wish me luck.

I work at Kendrick Amplifiers, I'm the only guy with enough eye sight left to see the traces on PCBs so I build all the little accesories and stompboxes that the place makes.  I'm also getting a lot of training in complaining, my boss teaches me how to complain about customers and my coworkers are teaching me how to complain about my boss.

In all seriousness though, I love my job, I only work there part time since I've been in school.  I sort of want to quit school, work there full time and absorb all of the knowledge I would need to one day be an international amp mogul.
