I'm a residential painter. I work for myself. It's good money but very hard work. Very hard to find good help. I had my wife helping me sand trim yesterday. It was the first time we had worked together in a few years. It was nice. It kicked her but. Today I sprayed oil base on all the trim and it was getting dark on me. Spraying in the dark sucks. I'm so tired. I'm definitely looking for a career in electronics (wanting to go back to school next year to get my BA in electronic engineering).

Now, I do small contracts in engineering and the rest of the time I try to have a better understanding of electronics.

Sorry, don't want to cause you a Kellog's syndroma. Albert Einstein played the violin. Werner Heisenberg was a distinguished pianist. Clifford Stoll (who have work with Mr. Moog BTW) makes Klein bottle (i own one!) and Richard Feynman played ... well, the bongos. But you get the idea!

that point is very interesting..i don´t know how a lot of people don´t have or feel that they dont have creativity..
there´s an artist inside everyone, taking that artist out, makes you smarter, witter, and a bigger person.
i see upper management people, or businessmen working everyday trying to make more money, with no creativity at all, for me that´s the definition of emptyness..

Art and creation makes us human, make us feel our world and see it with other eyes, and makes us go beyond the known facts. Seeing the world with creative eyes is what make the human race the winner of the evolutionary race.

i can´t imagine my life without creation..i play guitar, make origami, took violin lessons, write songs, build amps and effects, design amp and effects, write thoughts, painting, drawing, gardening, cooking (i love it) ,etc. is part of what i am, and thats where happiness meets me..

At that time it caused me problems.  Going from arts class to science was not so evident to me.  In arts, about anything was permitted.  When I began college I took a double (science and visual arts) program.   Pffff !  I was painting all the time and I failed my chemistry and calculus class at 21 and 23 %    .  Finally I made all my arts, took three times the final painting class (because I liked it too much, I was a first of class snob, and material was free) .  When I finished my sciences (preparation for university that we call CEGEP here) I finished second one  , it was kind of weird because it began like if it was really not for me.  So perhaps the hard part is getting your intern inertia wheel to start,  then you can speed it up.  Also, being creative all the time is very hard; I remember that when I decided to continue in science, it was in part because I feeled like a painting was just color pigments on a 2D surface.  I had worked a lot, used my fuel, and I needed to gas somewhere else in life.  The same with engineering: working for too long on processes for plastics and I get really bored and feel I miss something else.  One thing I realised is that I am a materialist in the sense that I like researching on the feeling of the "texture" and of the materials and sounds.  That is perhaps why I tend to oscillate around how to understand matters to bend it to something interesting in the "sensual" field.  Well I try.

we´re getting a little OT..
but for me, creativity is a MUST. i developed an habit to always make things differently or from other perspective, even at work i tend not to use proved technicisms, allways try to do things with a "twist"..Add value is my motto. i experiment a lot, and try to prove my hipothesis with my own theories..it´s quite rewarding, even if you get it the wrong way, the learning is amazing..

check my posts a year from now. i am very proud of how much i learned in a shprt period of time..thanks to passion, an open mind, and respect for the more experienced..

Mechanical Engineer. Lots of mechanical design and CAD work.
New to electronics and I'm hooked on this stuff. Creativity is very important to me also, no note for note solos for me. I have also designed and built guitars, recumbent bikes, HPV's, skateboards, and 2 line stunt kites. Play small gigs about once a month.

I used to work at the local museum. It was pretty good. I sold tickets, kept an eye on people, typed in over 25 000 names off of old militia rolls from 1864 to 1867 in old handwriting, and trolled internet forums.

Now I'm going into a full time student position for Computer Engineering with Co-op every other term.

Husband and father (I'm 24 years old with a 2 year old son). 

I have a bachelor's degree in Recording Industry Management, Production and Technology with a minor in Visual Art.

I work as a commercial electrician.

Now that my son is a bit older, and my wife a bit healthier, I'm trying to get back into doing music.  When she got pregnant she became very sick, and I quit two bands that were doing pretty well at the time.  Now that I haven't been in college for 4 years or around many musicians (that aren't construction workers) for quite sometime, it's difficult finding people to play with.  I don't have time to waste sifting through musicians to find those I resonate with, but I also don't want to audition for an existing band and play someone else's material.  It'll come though...

so i work at an organic grocery/juice bar in manhattan...     i like it a lot, though. all the free green juice, wheatgrass and vegetarian delights one could ask for.

I am a geographer, I have a masters degree in physical geography, arctic geomorphology.

After some years working with climatology and satellite image processing in Greenland, I now work as consultant in a company doing geographic information systems (GIS).

I am a mediocre guitarist with too many stompboxes, playing in my company's Christmas party band.

Six months ago I had my third kid, a latecomer with nine years up to the next and in October I'm starting 12 weeks parental leave.  I can't wait!
