Looking for schematic of Marshall Channel Switching Footswitches. They got those things screwed so tight I can't pop one open to look at it. Has anyone gotten one open for a schematic?

It's the P802 I'm looking for with the Channel and the Reverb switches.

You sure you didn't switch ring & sleeve? It seems more logical to me to have the ring grounded and then the 2 channels connected to ground, that's what you see most of the time anyway. :? But I could be mistaken of course :mrgreen:
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

Whatever it is, you get it by 'shorting' the wires together.
 One should be a reference like ground, the other two control the parameter by being connected or not connected to the reference wire.
 The worst case scenario is you' get it working by testing...touch this wire 'here' and whappens...you'll find your reverb and channel switches when you hit the magic connections.
 You can't mess anything up by misconnecting outside the amp frame...knock on wood...if everything's as it should be inside the amp.
 WIth three wires for possible connections the right combination shouldn't be too hard to find.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I am prety sure the schem is correct.

It is 100% correct except for the spelling of Sleeve and Connections :D.

Sorry to reopen an old thread, but I'm looking to make a P802 footswitch for my Marshall 8080, and since I got the DIY bug, I'm blowed if im going to buy one when I can pull bits out my parts box  ;D.  The only problem is the above image isnt showing for me.  Can anybody help me out by posting a schematic please?

I'm presuming that because its a two switch job coming from one socket on the amp, its going to be a stereo jack and lead and its probably going to be simple SPST switches (DPST for LED's?) with a common ground, but I want to be sure before make the amp go bang.

thanks in advance!

I second that.....could somebody repost that image above? I also need to rebuild my Marshall footswitch. Damn thing died during one of my gigs the other night.  :icon_evil:

Its either a stereo or a mono jack, with the tip switched from ground to not connected.

I just built two amp switches for my vox cambridge.

If in doubt get a guitar cable and a bit of wire. Turn the amp on, plug the guitar cable into the footswitch socket and use the wire to connect the tip to the sleeve.

Does the amp channel/reverb/whatever the hell it is, switch on and off?

The one at my place of work is:
sleeve=ground
tip='verb
ring=channel
