For all you bassists, the Flipster is a FET emulation of the Ampeg Portaflex SB-12. Check it out!

Many thanks to the beta testers!

B, pretty soon you're going to need a separate web site for all these emulators!

Nice work though... :D

Cool! Is it any good for guitar though?
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

Nice.....I love distortions and have a lot of ones that I want to build, but this is a 'need to build' kinda tool for me.
Thanks ROG!!!!

This almost makes me want to change that line in The Train Kept a Rollin - you know the one "She was a hipster, and a real gone chick"! Yet another good one from these folks out there. Wasn't there last offering called the English Channel? Well, today all cross channel services were suspended because of rough seas - force 7-9!

Yes, guitars sound good through it as well.  Also, the tone controls are very effective.

You guys are crazy!

But while you're at it, how about emulating that Marshall bass amp so I can get the Chris Squire sound?

Please?

Man I wish I could play half as well as him!

I like that. It's got that 'old school' bass sound.

I was a total Yes obsessive in the early-mid 70's, but basically stopped
listening to the *Prog* idols of my youth by '77. I just recently embarked
on a Prog *rediscovery* and that involved busting out my faded and well
worn original vinyl copy of "Yessongs" (with some suspect looking green
dust embedded in the inner creases of the Roger Dean art). It really
brought home how much this music shaped my whole musical concept. It
also reminded me of how much my wah sound *ideal* came from Chris
Squire. I always think of Jimi, Frank Zappa and the 70's era electric Mile
s Davis stuff, forgetting how cool Chris sounded.

You guys are something else! Where do y'all find the time?!?

Jason Stout

It sure does! If you play a little with FET types and set the tone controls just right, Jack Bruce tones can be had.

One question;the first resistor on the pcb layout says 4k7 and the schematic says 47k.I assume the one on the schematic is the right one?
Thanks in advance,Ed

B Tremblay

The schematic is correct.  Thanks for catching that, I'll get the parts list on the layout fixed.
