Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive

This pedal (TS clone ?) is one that has been mentioned before but I haven't seen any pics of the internals, so ...

Fret Wire

He fit it in a 1590b, at least. Carbon comp resistors sitting next to chip caps....vintage identity crisis.

Whoops, looks like he forgot the carbon washers on the jacks...

Interesting. pretty tight in there.

Gosh, worth every penny of $300. Not.

Looks like a mess to me... but then again what do I know???

I guess the bottom line is - Does it sound $270 better than the one we've all built?

Realistically, among people like us, its not worth it. BUT--we aren't Landgraff's target demographic. His goal is to sell and make a profit, not come up with a cool, never done before pedal. So, in that since he's probably a success. But among people in the know, the langraff's are a bit of a joke, IMO.

Bluesgeetar

You'd think for that much he would at least put in Switchcraft jacks.

Erm, yes you could build one for 40 bucks and have a lot of fun too, or buy an Ibanez TS7 for 60, then "MOD" it to 808 specs and beyond for not much more than 10 bucks !!!.   DUH !   300  ?? for what ?
It does look a mess inside, way too crowded in there !!.

I'm not really understanding the problem here. Is it that he's selling other people's circuits? Well, if they're circuits that have been made available to the public there's not much room to complain. Seeing as how this is based on what's probably the second most copied pedal in hisory (behind the Fuzz Face), I can't see why that would be an issue. The price? Maybe a legit complaint, but check the internals. That's some damn fine soldering to my eyes. How about the exteriors? Paintjobs like that aren't cheap.

Does it all add up to $300+? Eh... not for me. But if someone wants to pay that, let 'em. I am a subscriber to the PT Barnum School of Business. If someone's stupid enough to pay that, I'm all for it. As long as they're paying ME.

LEDs for TS9 clipping diodes.  Cool.

Fair comments guys, the paint job and attention to detail/wiring is most definately an awesome job, ( i hadn't seen the outside til RDV posted ).
Sure, my times worth at least 50 bucks an hour, whats yours ?
if you're a lawyer then its 500 bucks, fair price ??   er NO !
People who know their stuff and share it, like RG Keen and Jack Orman will sadly often never get the deserved credit, this applies in many walks of life, unfair ?  yeah absolutely !!.
If you've ever seen/heard the "TREX Dr Swamp" then you WOULD say that is worth 250 bucks for sure, bit more mass produced-yes, same TS type circuits for drive A and B - yes, but a beautiful job at that price.
If any one of us builds/mods/paints/plays an instrument or whatever and makes a living from it, then fair play and good luck i guess !, it would be very nice to also credit people for help & circuit design, as i know a lot of people on this forum do regularly.
