Looks like a fun project that you can also leave around to attract lots of attention - nice work!

Now, this is my kind of instrument.

Thanks people!

I'm a little proud of it myself, it's just an open box with a piece of wood holding a variable resistor, i shall made some mp3s and a shematic. It sounds very 'analogish' as the copper 'keys' don't have a uniformly conductive surface and there is some other things.

Looks like it can be fun with other oscillators, phasing effects (tried octaver and autowah so far), build-in momentary switches to change octave and build-in effects (there's plenty of room in the guitar shaped casing) right at hand...

COOLLLL!!! I'm waiting for the soundclips and schematic. What about more notes to it?

hair force one

ok marcos, i'll post more pictures of it!

Finally i made some crappy recordings this morning from the synthetiser guitar plugged in my sunn amp and put it into stereo tracks on Qbace...
Listen to my baby buzzing and whistling:
http://partouze.chez.tiscali.fr/stomp/synthar.mp3, this is the synth pure without pedals (only some reverb on theremin track)
Listen with Boss OC2 and Hollis' Zombie Chorus:
http://partouze.chez.tiscali.fr/stomp/synthar-Oc2-ZomBchorus.mp3, and some extra surf-retrosynth-wave http://partouze.chez.tiscali.fr/stomp/Landing%20of%20Zynthar-Oc2-ZB.mp3 (warning those two are loud!!!)

It may be just my computer [the guys from cable we're trying for hours to hook up a second internet connection and seemed to be a bit 'virus' happy...'Oh that's probly a Virus"...I'm like "Oh it wasn't doing that one minute ago"...racing around and meessing about in control panel and settings etc. repeatedly downloading etc. ..But when I clicked on the link to the clip the whole page turned to puppy chow
Looks like you've been doing a nice big batch of 'funwork'!!!
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

COOOLLLLL!!! Now I'm waiting for the schematic. Did you tried to add more notes to it?

Jason Stout

Those clips hit a soft spot in my heart...beautifull!!

Mods: replace key resistors by trimpots for better tuning, add two "detuner/vibrato" pots at the end of the keyboard (one up, one down), add momentary spst that switches more caps in parallel with the octave ones, make faster keys with a stripboad (by filling the gaps into squares and screwing the board on the neck, could customize this way  the old sleeping guitar in the attic or everything else!), solder a skullring ....

comments:" this is only a big stylophone.... with more style!"

Quote" gonna have to give it a name"

How about "S-Style-Electro-Caster"

and the magig words under the logo "With synchronized presets"

PS How does hfo always end with piece of art with just some junk parts, and I always end with not so piece of art, though I have junk in my box too?

Thanks a lot. Can I use another IC in this circuit?

Narcosynthesis

what are considered the best types of components to use?

you get quite a few different types of caps for example... electrolytic, metal film, ceramic, etc... so what are the 'best' to use

same for resisters and any other components
