Speaking of Black Cat; anyone has the Bass Octave Fuzz schematic?

I believe it is a Maestro Brassmaster; is it a perfect clone or is it modded?

The BOF is very nearly a perfect brassmaster clone, at least compared to the schematic that is readily available (project file at GEO, pics and clips on my site, as well as others...). AFAICT, the only difference is around the filter section and associated switching. Instead of switching the three resistors with a 3PDT, the BOF has two complete filter sections, one with the low value resistors and the other with the high value resistors. A DPDT switches between them.

The Hotcake is another op amp with no diodes distortion that seems to be popular.   :icon_cool:

Yeah the Hotcake will be my Christmas present this year from my wife.

Just for the record, I tried some clipping diodes in the feedback loop of the Black Cat OD-1. The results were less than spectacular.  :icon_confused:

Hi,

wow, this thread is old... but anyway...

I´m just planning to build a Black Cat OD-1, using the schematic at fuzzcentral:

I wonder what kind of caps I should use for the small values?
The 100pF in the feedback loop should be a silver mica, I guess?
But what about the two 200pF caps? Silver mica or better ceramics?

By the way: The OD-1 sounds pretty cool, I wonder why it´s not more popular:

I would use ceramics for all the small values. Silver mica is somewhat expensive and I'm not sure how much of an improvement you will get.
