Greetings all you tweakers! First of all, Aron's Stompbox Forum is a very addictive cyber-drug! Even though I can’t comprendo much of the techie-jive, I can however appreciate to the oompth degree, the help and guidance of every single participant within these pages. I applaud all of you’s!

This Forum has provided an incredible amount of concise and in-depth knowledge that even the novice ‘tweaker’ *eh hem* can understand! I’m sure I’m speaking for all the beginners within the walls of ‘ASF’ and I know I'm not the only one to give praise here! Kudos to all!

I love this site!

Okay… enough ass kissing!

Has anyone ever powered an Electro Harmonix Micro Synth via a VooDoo Labs Pedal Power 2? If so… can you ‘splain in detail (I’m a visual learner) how you did it! If not, can you help me to understand how I can create a quiet 24v adaptor for this thing? Maybe you can offer up some wiring suggestions for the PP2. Don't know!!! :?: Dis is why I aks you main!

Mucho's thanks ahead of time!

You guys are an incredible "Inspiration"...

I dedicate that "Chicago" song to you guys!

Cheers!

thanx 4 linking to links.
wasn't familiar with "PedalPower".
The EH-MicroSynths use an internal xfmr 2 provide
plus&minus 9VDC 4 it's own power.
The "PP" has 4 "normal" 9VDC outs.
The ad says "completely isolated".
so...............
MayB, & that's a *definite*, MayB, U can use
2 of the outputs to make plus&minus 9VDC(?)
if U ohm out the negs of each of the 1st 4 outputs,
(with power OFF, of course), the gnds, or escentially the
"neg" of the batt, *should* be independent of each other.
That is, in other words, there should *NOT* B zero ohms
between the center of each individual output.
Also, there should not B a connection at the outside of each output.
All pos & negs should B completely independent.
I'm guessing U R building a DIY EH-MicroSynth, so U would
wire, say Output 1 as the Pos9VDC and Output2 as the "neg".

Otherwise, U can create a minus9VDC by using only 1 Output
and a dc/dc converter like the MAX761.
this is a "charge-pump" device that uses *no* inductors.
it is similar to the 7660, but considered "better" cause
the internal charge-pump runs at a higher frequency.
Get a Digital Meter so U can measure pos and neg voltages.
Harbor Freight has one on sale again for $3.99.
I'm sure others will chime in.....

According to the site, the PP2 has a switch to select 9V or 12.2V. Depending on the circuit, it may be possible to simply tie one outputs positive terminal to another’s ground terminal, thus creating 24.4V between the "other" positive and the "other" ground. If it is isolated like the say it is, this shouldn't be a problem. But you'd really want to check the circuit diagram beforehand!

But, still no guarantee that it will be any quieter than any other DC supply.

I found the Voodoo Labs people really helpful with questions about the PP2. Most likely they can sell you a custom cable that jumpers 2 12v into 24v, but I would ask them via email.
