Umm, well. It has been done before. Actually I got the idea from this here. IMHO very cool looking. Clean and professional.

I thought about that myself and decided No way!!
Thought the same thing first. But I read in the tonepad build reports that someone did it, so I decided to give it a try.
But it was not so easy.
- drilled away one of the screw holes
- bended and twisted the input and output jacks
- rounded the corners of the PCB
- used 4mm pots and cut the soldering connectors on the top right one
- couldn't include a power supply connector. I wanted to, but no room.

To fit the knobs over the nut of the pots I had to file away most of the corners. So the nuts are smaller and rounder. I dont like when one can see the nuts under the knobs.

At first I didn't want to use an LED holder, but it was almost impossible to do a nice round hole with a bit more than 5mm at the exact position. I tried it with a 5mm hole, sprayed with clear coat, pushed the led through and the clear coat cracked :?. So I drilled a bigger hole and used an LED clip. Sprayed it with white primer and clear.

Maybe you got me here . When I folled the link I had some kind of dejavu. I browsed through my guitar magazines and there is actually a review of this in the august issue. So you probably realized the source of inspiration I had already forgotten.
