Using ac adapter jack with battery?

Hi,

Can anyone offer ideas for using a "non-switching" ac adapter jack with 9 volt battery plug?

Worried, if accidentally plug ac adapter while battery is in there, would it fry it?

You do need a switching jack to use with a battery. You could use a seperate switch to switch back and forth, but it would be cheaper to just get the correct jack IMO.
