Ugly Face Build help!

I threw together an ugly face but i am having a few problems with it.

I think it may be related to the vactrol. Does anone knwo what vactrol yo are supposed to use? I made one myself out of an led and a ldr.

Basically teh sensitivity control is doing nothing. or icant tell what its doing. and the frequency control has little to no effect on the frequency. The threshold control works i think. at some point the pedal does become an oscilator and then past that point if you continue to trn the threshold dial the pitch of that oscilator increases.

Also im usina millenium bypass on this and i noticed that when the theshold dial is at a certain setting the led comes on when i should be off. I have never had problems with the millenium bypass before liek this.

ANY help or a better explanation of how the ugly face works woudl be appreciated.

Do a search in the forum (search link up there), I know there's a couple threads on it. There's a build report at http://home-wrecker.com/uglyface.html (the runoffgroove.com archives) by Gary Burchett in which he explains how he made his led/ldr module. That should help.

I believe the home-wrecker site for that box tells the resistance that the photocell needs to have if it's light or dark, and I believe the LED has to be red.

Im having the same problem with both of my ugly faces I built on musicpcb board. MY SENSITIVITY KNOB DOSENT WORK!!

You're going to have to do some investigation to find where the problem is, we can't help you fix it until we know what's wrong.
